Finally they have opened their doors in Jozi. Cape Town based fashion label Me & B has opened its first physical store at 44 Stanley Avenue by mother and daughter duo Kelly-Grace Gibberd and Betina Swart. Two ladies on a mission to ensure their brand is truly inclusive and not just playing lip-service to the notion.
Imagine a fashion brand that actually includes all body shapes and sizes. Does that even exist?
We all promote body positivity but which brands actually make clothing that is fully inclusive?
Well Me & B created in 2018, does exactly that and thus we implore you to celebrate them and their all-embracing concept.
Also yes they are affordable dresses , which range from R199 to R1199, to fit everyone’s closet and suit everyone’s budget.
There is undeniably a power in fashion and how it influences how we feel about ourselves as strong, confident women.
So this mother and daughter duo, believe that fashion should be inclusive, ageless, and size less. And they are not just talking about it either, they are making it happen. Opening their first store in Johannesburg this month at 44 Stanley Avenue, “We believed it was time to do things differently” says Kelly about the inspiration for the brand. “We wanted to create an environment where everyone could shop, feel included and most importantly feel comfortable in our clothes. This is why, if we have a beautiful design in a size 32, then rest assured we will have it all the way up to a size 46 so that anyone who likes that design can enjoy the garment” Kelly adds.
Together mum and daughter have spearheaded the design of their range as a reflection of their fun and positive attitudes and as an invitation to all to step into something comfortable and beautiful. As head of design Betina has also pulled together a formidable group of other female entrepreneurs and suppliers from in and around Cape Town who have been critical in bringing Me & B to life. These skilled and talented women who started off with Kelly and Betina have now been able to grow their own businesses as well. “Knowing that we are empowering other women to grow as we continue to build the brand spurs us on to scale even more” adds Betina.
