A delectable vegan menu offering at the Radisson Blu Hotel Sandton
Plant-based or plant-forward has revolutionized the way we eat. It’s 2021 people, if you haven’t done meatfreemonday we cannot be friends. Not only is it a major food trend, it is also incredibly good for you.
Radisson BLU Hotel Sandton recognises this and thus have created a vegan menu, inspired by locally sourced, seasonal produce with an emphasis on fresh, natural flavours. Unlike other vegan menus, the Radisson BLU Hotel Sandton focuses on more refined and sophisticated dishes with nutritional value of each serving being carefully considered.
They’ve taken the initiative a step further by creating an experience for its vegan customers in the penthouse of the hotel. That’s right HJ, those who book the experience are seated away from the hotel’s main Vivace restaurant in your very own VIP space (max of 12 guests).
What to expect: a snack starter of crispy, fried tandoori chickpeas before moving on to the first course of thyme and black garlic gnocchi mixed through with homemade sun-dried tomato, chili olive oil, napolitana sauce and fried basil. The second course is comprised of a panko crusted aubergine topped with a warm red pepper hummus, caramelised rosemary baby onions. A wild mushroom and red wine casserole, dombola and house made pickles is sure to warm the hearts and tummies of guests before moving on to something sweet. End-off the meal with a Mexican lime zest and toasted coconut tart baked to perfection with a gooey center and crisp, flakey shell.
The menu is accompanied by a selection of vegan wines and is on offer from R395 per person.
