Get all toasty with TOAST’s pop-up dining experiences
TOAST Fine Food is no stranger to the Pretoria catering crowd. Still, they tend to hide from the hustle and often choose to make magic for the more unexpected, intimate, pop-up dining experiences that not many get to have. Since they don’t have the liability of a fixed restaurant, they have the freedom to let their creativity lead the way and therefore, it is safe to say that you will struggle to find anything similar to TOAST’s offering.
While Sorcery Café and others are outsourcing delicious baked goods, pesto’s, chili sauces, pickles, baba ghanoush and more from TOAST’s prep kitchen, it’s clear that the kitchen is evolving into a tasting kitchen too. The TOAST Fine Food kitchen has been designed in such a way that it’s possible to host intimate tasting events and unique pop-up dinners. It offers a lovely space where you can taste a whole array of dishes, whether it’s for a planned wedding or merely an intimate meal.
“The possibilities are endless,” Chef Ivan Richards says. “We don’t have rent or overheads hanging over our heads,” he explains. Hence, they can look at what is seasonal and make magic from that.
The TOAST pop-up restaurant will be open for bookings from early July this year. Prospective diners can expect anything, from a three-course comfort food dinner to an eight-course fine dining meal. Drinks will be included in the menu offering.
Check out TOAST’s online store, where they sell delicious foodie goodies, and stay tuned on social media to see when the first pop-up experience will be taking place. “We often have new ideas, but we keep it exclusive. So, we’ll make new things, or come across something new, which we will release on these pop-up evenings, or sell via our online shop for a season,” says Chef Ivan.
