Who doesn’t love Thai food?
Well to kick off the chilly season we have somewhere, which we guarantee will tantalise those winter tastebuds.
At Mohavi Orient Spa & Thai Restaurant the food is designed to please all palates. They create the most delicious Thai dishes, authentic, traditional Thai style cuisine.
Mohavi Thai Restaurant, situated in Fourways Sandton is the perfect excuse to escape the office for a well deserved lunch hour. Also you can eat and drink on the cheap, the prices are ridiculously affordable while the ingredients are still of the highest quality. All the produce is fresh and brought in daily from the local market.
Lunch menu prices range from R60 for Thai chicken wings to sticky Thai meatballs at R70, add a side order of their famous papaya salad (Som Tum Malakor) R65 and you’ll be set for the day. Make sure to order it extra hot, spicy, tangy, goodness.
For dinner we recommend ordering one of their signature cocktails from the full bar and cocktail menu, they make a mean frozen margarita almost 30cm high, followed by a green curry with coconut milk- R120 (prawn, pork, chicken, beef or veg) or a quarter crispy duck in a red curry sauce- R150. Or opt for their angry duck, sweet and sour duck, crispy duck or even a perfectly prepared stir fry with egg fried rice, oh and don’t forget to make space for their sushi too. After this experience you might even forget you’re not dining on Khao San Road, Bangkok.
Sweet lovers can relish in their banana fritters or go all out and try the deep fried ice-cream, oh did we mention it is topped with a decadent bar-one sauce?
It’s simple this restaurant aims to please. Set in a very casual outdoor atmosphere, it has a tiki bar theme with a comfortable ambience. Dine in sneakers and keep it casual because this hangout is aesthetically defined by its laid back vibe, so yes you can slurp your noodles too.
And don’t forget to bring some extra cash because there is also a Thai Orient spa on site. Pre- lunch massage anyone?
Book a 30 min traditional Thai massage at R400 or a 60 minute at R550, combining massage therapy, Ayurveda and various yoga positions and stretches.
