Jozi restaurant pioneers are reinventing the typical convenience store
Anyone else tired of Woolies? We mean how many times can you have a mac and cheese in the microwave or a plant powered sausage?
Hence why we are so excited about this new offering from David Higgs, Gary Kyriacou, Irene Kyriacou and Dino Constantinou from the Marble Group.
This is the group’s latest hospitality endeavour, they’re reinventing your typical convenience store. The Pantry by Marble, will be an entirely new concept for a forecourt convenience store, and it will open in October 2021. The Group has partnered with Sasol and will take over the management of one of their flagship petrol stations and retail offerings – located on Jan Smuts Avenue, just underneath Marble Restaurant.
“Although the local hospitality industry has taken huge strain over the last 18 months, we still feel there is opportunity,” says Gary Kyriacou, co-founder and partner of The Marble Group. “The Pantry diversifies our Group offering in the sector and positions us well for future growth.”
So what can you expect HJ: a hybrid model of a supermarket, deli, take-away and retail store; The Pantry will be a grocery store which offers consumers grocery items including quality fresh produce, ready-to-go meals, bakery items, flowers, wine and everyday essentials along with a bespoke retail selection.
Oh and the best part is there will be an app too, for local deliveries.
So watch this space, we will share all the deets later on in the year.
The Pantry will be open seven days a week, 24-hours a day from mid-October 2021.
