Lets toast to these local ladies in food

Like we ever needed an excuse to celebrate our local ladies. We appreciate and thank our female foodie entrepreneurs, especially when it comes to culinary motivation. So here is a list of mighty lasses to look out for this women’s month.

1. Female Force: Nobhongo Gxolo

Nobhongo has come up with the Third Culture Experiment Food Club, which is a monthly food club that invites guests to meet, eat and connect. We love the fact that she is connecting human beings, something many of us struggle with, and centered around something we all love, food and wine. These are real everlasting connections in a non formal environment.

2. Vegan Goddess- Cat Carstens

We absolutely love Cat’s insta account so if you’re not following her, here is your chance. We enjoy her promotion of vegan and veggie bits as well gluten free options. She’s definitely inspiring us to eat healthier and make better food choices that are kinder to our bodies and the environment.

P.S check out her baked chocolate oat recipe.

3. Independent Female - Bathandwa Nkambule

She is a formidable force, a recipe developer, food editor and content creator of The Earthy Cook, which incites fuss free vegan recipes. Not only is she encouraging healthier eating habits but she also brings light to vital themes on social media, such as hair and privilege and how some people cannot afford five fruits and veggies a day.

4. Female Innovator- Kamini Pather

Kamini has just launched her very first e-cookbook, Eat Glocal. Not only is she a masterchef winner but she is also the host of the Girl Eat World show, she is girl power personified and we appreciate her sincere and honest approach to food. Plus isn’t she just darn cool?

As August is Women’s Month in South Africa, we encourage everyone to celebrate our women and acknowledge their innovation, entrepreneurship and independence.
