Right so it is summertime and the city has been revived so lets support our local spots and get our party shoes on.
Monarch is not easy to miss, aesthetically spectacular, inside there are walls adorned with origami style butterflies, a high-end nightclub ambience and outside is fit for royalty. Their design is varied and unique with boujee style booths to sip Hennessy in or upscale fine dining style tables with comfortable sofas and leafy green velvet floor mounted chairs to wine at. The vibe is “I have arrived” and the layout is “don’t underestimate me”, the ideal combination if you ask us. You have to see this immense space to get a feel for it, pictures just don’t do it justice.
The bar menu is flourishing with exciting cocktails and there is even a gin bar, it just doesn’t get cooler than that, we’ll take a double please. There is also a second casual style bar and interior private booths by the dance floor.
From the get go the menu looks fabulous and the food delivers in flavour. From tapas style plates to platters, from organic salads to French trim lamb racks there is something for all tastes.
We recommend trying a few tapas style dishes, from perfectly cooked panko and parmesan crusted chicken strips to appetizing chicken livers in a creamy white sauce with a side of dainty and delectable beef carpaccio, your palate will be more than satisfied.
This spot is sure to be a fixture to 24 Central, bringing in their own interpretation of upmarket while still honoring the unmatched location. It’s also addictive, slightly playful yet oh so comfortable and a little decadent too.
Basically Monarch is trying to give you a bit of a moment, perfect for a birthday celebration, a girls night out, a chance to boogie with your besties or even a romantic date night.
