MooMoo: What’s your next moo-ve?
The next time someone asks us what we’d like to drink, the answer is simple: A Whiskey on ice (cream) at MooMoo, Mall of Africa. That’s for dessert, of course. A whole wonderful MooMoo meal would have had to transpire first.
MooMoo, Mall of Africa has been around since mid-2022 and with its catchy red umbrellas, clever Moo-inspired décor and an impressive wine wall, you can expect a meal you won’t forget. It’s a vibe you’d enjoy all year round. Bright red and green décor elements call for summer cocktails outside, while a more homy interior with couches and warmer colours – complementing the black and white cow-coloured tables – invite you in for a hearty, meaty meal.
What to expect at MooMoo
That is ultimately what MooMoo is all about – meat and wine. Or rather, as their signs suggest: Meet and whine. Well, we certainly did not feel like whining when our starters were brought to the table. Beef Carpaccio Rolls and Ox tail livers (dubbed the Foxy Englishman) were served ahead of our mains and we paired it with a lovely Stellenbosch Reserve from MooMoo’s wine wall. The wine wall features numerous high quality South African wines, complete with price tags allowing you to pick and choose a bottle that won’t break your budget. We continued with our wine well into the main course – a clever, shareable combination from the menu. Some yummy frites accompanied our beef espetada and we coupled that with a lovely beet and rocket salad, topped with delightful, deep-fried haloumi.
Understandably, there was not much space left for dessert, hence we opted for Whiskey Dom Pedros. These were served thick and creamy and is definitely how we will be drinking our whiskey from now on. Whiskey on ice (cream). Of course, the menu includes various other sweet treats too, including Milky Bar Parcels, Chocolate Volcano and a variety of Roska Artisan Ice Cream options. Think Ginger Shortbread and Belgian Chocolate…
Whether you’re looking for a quick and easy dinner date destination, or a space where you can celebrate a special occasion with good food and wine, MooMoo at Mall of Africa is a good moo-ve.
