Recipe Green Moringa Smoothie

BaoActive African Superfood’s super blend of Baobab and Moringa powders (R198 for 300g) is the one thing you will need to stay healthy this holiday season.   

The blend is high in vitamins C, E, K, B3 and B6, potassium, calcium, magnesium, protein and soluble dietary fibres. Plus, the combination is said to provide strong immunity-building functions to protect the body from the toxic effects of stress. Furthermore, it provides an important level of vitamin C as an antioxidant boost against infections.  

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Well, we say a green Moringa Smoothie will keep you feeling groovy! Go ahead and try this recipe: 

Green Moringa Smoothie

Preparation time: 5 minutes 

Ingredients:

1 medium banana 

½ medium apple 

1 kiwi 

7-8 almonds (soaked overnight and peeled) 

1 tbsp oats powder 

1 tsp flaxseed powder 

2 tsp chia seeds 

1 cup spinach leaves 

2 tsp BaoActive African Superfood Moringa powder 

1 cup coconut water (you can also use plain water) 

Method:

Add all the ingredients, except half a glass of coconut or plain water, in a blender and blend until you get a smoothie texture.  

Pour in the rest of the coconut water and pulse again for a while.  

Your super healthy and filling green moringa smoothie is ready! 

Notes for the chef:

How to soak almonds 

Place almonds in a bowl, add enough warm tap water to fully cover them. 

Cover the bowl and let it sit on your countertop overnight or for 8-12 hours.  

Drain and rinse.  

Pat the almonds dry by using a clean paper towel.
