What’s hip, hot and happening in Sandton? Here’s the LD

Sandton is abuzz with all things super swanky and so trendy for this festive season. So we thought we would share a few of our favourite things you can do in the coolest epicenter in South Africa.

1. In Good Company - an art exhibition

Make sure to visit the visual art exhibition – In Good Company, featuring 32 awe-inspiring South Africans. And the best news it is all in aid of Reach for a Dream.

The timeless collection, that is available to view in the upper level in Sandton City, features over 40 art pieces inspiring hope, strength and courage for South Africans with visual art that is powerful and visceral. Personalities that feature in the collection include Ayanda Thabethe, Prof. Thuli Madonsela, Pearl Thusi, J’Something, Gert-Johan Coetzee, Maps Maponyane, Minnie Dlamini-Jones, Master KG, Thapelo Mokoena, Siba Mtongana, Catherine Constantinides and others.

In honoring South Africa’s culture of greatness, In Good Company, the collection, shares the exceptional perspectives and astounding stories through some of our country’s top achievers.

The show is on till 15 November.

2. Visit Artyli Contemporary African Art Gallery

The gallery introduces shoppers to new perspectives and hidden narratives through the artworks of emerging and mid-career African artists as well as contemporary exhibitions. While individual artworks are showcased to provide intriguing cultural experiences, Artyli also offers curation, framing, delivery, and installation services.

3. Lunch at The Raj Restaurant

Stop over for lunch for the finest North Indian at The Raj Restaurant in Michelangelo Towers Mall. Tantalizing the taste buds of all who enter this palatial destination.

4. Panoramic views from Nonna's Italian Kitchen

Pop on over to Nonna’s Italian Kitchen, which will be moving to a new chic and exclusive space overlooking the Sandton square. Their pastas are TDF!

 

5. Snack on a little street food at Strada

Make sure you look out for thenew street food concept called Strada, which has just opened, specializing in casual street food from all over the globe.
