Why Badinage is Pretoria’s New IT Restaurant
Have you heard of the new restaurant in town? Well, if you haven’t, you’re missing out on Pretoria’s latest and greatest. Badinage has been tempting patrons with a food and drinks menu filled with some of the finest offerings.
Situated in Equestria’s Silverstream Shopping Centre, Badinage – the first for the franchise – has found its home. Furthermore, the tasteful establishment was founded by Rikus de Beer from the Hennie’s Restaurant Group with the name meaning humorous or witty conversation. Of course, the meaning of its name can only add to the reason why patrons would want to enjoy a lengthy meal at this upscale restaurant.
Designed with elegance in mind
Badinage is eloquently decorated with comfortable, bottle green leather couches, and dark wooden tables are set with unique crockery and cutlery paired with stylish stemware. While Badinage serves bubbly in elegant, vintage champagne glasses, Whiskey Sours and Dirty Margaritas are served in fancy glassware too.
With a London-inspired brown bar feel to the restaurant, you could almost picture the 14m long bar, but it doesn’t compare to seeing it in reality. Ultimately, Badinage’s interiors were designed with intention, and it came to life beautifully.
The Menu
With an extensive offering of drinks and cocktails, there is a delectable food menu to match. What’s more is that it’s ranging from bar snacks to a main menu and stalwarts’ menu, as well as delightful dessert options and a Sunday set menu, your options are endless. Here, you’ll undoubtedly be served a meal equally delectable as the last.
Badinage’s menu is well prepared by Chef Monaheng who has progressed through his career growing from student to sous chef and finally, Badinage’s very own.
The Mood at Badinage
In addition, the well-planned, hand-picked playlist is something to mention, as it most definitely adds to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. Surrounded by picture frames along with a wood-fired pizza oven, you can feel the coziness and elegance exude from the walls.
A word from the founder
“I believe there is something special about physically sharing a conversation or idea with others at a special place,” says de Beer. “Every place or venue has an energy and vibe that vibrates within its walls. It has a soul and personality of its own. There is something magical about connecting with someone at a special place, intimately reminiscing about the old days, learning from our mistakes and creating new memories and stories for the future.”
