Nightlife. Remember that word? Could just be an optical illusion or it could be the city pumping again. With vaccinations on the rise we thought it was time to grab a cocktail and chill and if you’re not sure where the latest haunts are, don’t fret, we’ll take you on a journey of discovery as here are a few of our fave.

La Parada Parkhurst

go for the wine pairing, stay for the tapas

View of the bar at la parada

In case you weren’t aware that La Parada Parkhurst is one of the trendiest hotspots ever, we’re here to spill the wine.

#HelloRecommends – on the last Thursday of every month you visit as they offer a Tapas & Tannins evening at R395pp. This is a wine pairing with an exclusive estate and their delectable tapas menu. The portions are generous and so are there pouring skills.

P.S their doughy, fried, empanadas are hands down the best in town!

Insta-worthy space: the bar

4th Avenue Parkhurst Square

We Are So Peachy

go for the cocktails, stay for the vibe

people having drinks and fun with live music

Daymmmm peachy, that is how we would describe this brand new space. The place, the peeps, the booze and the grub all are damn fine.

#HelloRecommends – you join them for a Jozi jol on Saturdays because they have live DJ’s playing. Imagine that?

P.S they serve the most delicious Gingersnap cocktail, they make everything from scratch, all sauces, drinks, cordials, mixers, they do it all. Plus when you join them for a day party you can still get into bed at a responsible hour and adult the following day.

Insta-worthy space: the multicoloured pretty pastel loungers in the courtyard.

44 Stanley Avenue Johannesburg

The Wild Side

go for the madness, stay forever

Join us in raising a glass to The Wild Side. There basically isn’t a single thing we didn’t like about this spanking new colourful hotspot. 10/10 fabulousity to the max.

#HelloRecommends – you  visit this savage space for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. It’s that ridiculously amazing and truly there is nothing quite like them in Jozi.

P.S bring your wild side, the vibe here is magnetic: they have a crowned jaguar on a purple wall, a tiger painted on the wooden deck,a striking red furry wall (to lick or not to lick), an extensively exciting menu with options like ‘lay me down’, ‘polyamory’, ‘howdy partner’ and ‘shake that a$’ we have no doubt they will be a roaring success.

When we say they’ve just opened their doors, we mean it, they just opened this month! Pay them a visit, support local, we reckon it’ll put you into the bar-hopping spirit.

#HelloRecommends – popping in for after work drinks, especially because of curfew rather get there late afternoon, they close by 9pm and you will find it hard to leave.

P.S. take a group of pals along with you, this one is all about the peeps.

Insta-worthy space: under the ‘fancy as f$ck’ neon sign.
