Cape Town Wellness Escape: The President Hotel x Healing Earth

The President Hotel and Healing Earth are turning one Saturday on Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard into a five-hour reset — complete with an ocean dip, yoga, good food and a little African botanical alchemy

Wellness on the beach in Cape Town

There’s wellness. And then there’s jumping into the Atlantic on an October morning.

On Saturday, 17 October, The President Hotel in Bantry Bay is teaming up with Healing Earth for a one-day Wellness Escape designed around something many of us could probably use more of: slowing down.

And the setting is difficult to beat.

Start with the Atlantic

The morning begins below the hotel at Saunders’ Rock tidal pool, where guests can take a refreshing dip in the Atlantic before warming up with a restorative sauna session.

It’s a suitably Cape Town start to proceedings: ocean, mountain and that first sharp encounter with cold water that makes checking your phone seem remarkably unimportant.

From there, Leigh from House of Yoga leads a mindful yoga flow before the pace slows further over a wellness brunch by Wildsprout.

A Little African Botanical Alchemy

The final part of the experience gets more hands-on.

Healing Earth’s Beauty Kitchen introduces guests to natural African botanicals and the rituals behind them, before everyone creates their own body scrub to take home.

Rather than packing the programme with treatments and activities, the appeal here is its simplicity: swim, warm up, move, eat, make something and breathe.

“Sometimes wellness doesn’t need another complicated routine. It needs cold Atlantic water, good food, a little movement and permission to slow down.”

Turn Five Hours Into a Weekend

For those reluctant to return immediately to reality, The President Hotel has created a Wellness Staycation for either Friday, 16 October or Saturday, 17 October.

The package adds an overnight stay and breakfast, welcome herbal tea, a Healing Earth gift, the full Wellness Retreat and brunch, dinner and a 60-minute holistic full-body massage.

The evening ends with a Sleep Retreat turndown — a calming in-room ritual intended to make switching off rather more literal.

With the Atlantic on one side, Lion’s Head on the other and the Sea Point Promenade nearby, it makes a compelling argument for treating wellness as an experience rather than another item on the to-do list.
