This is a new release only coming out in August 2026, however we thought it was a very important series on mention in our weekly list: Apple TV has just revealed a first look at the second season of the acclaimed sci-fi series “Dark Matter,” which is set to make its global debut on Friday, August 28. Based on the blockbuster book by New York Times bestselling author Blake Crouch and starring an ensemble cast led by Golden Globe nominee Joel Edgerton alongside Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, Oakes Fegley and Amanda Brugel, the 10-episode season will premiere on Apple TV with the first episode on August 28, followed by one new episode every Friday through October 30, 2026.

If thrillers with real bite are more your speed, then The Savant deserves your attention. Starring Jessica Chastain, the series follows an undercover investigator who infiltrates online hate groups in an effort to stop domestic extremists before they act. That setup alone makes it one of the most intense entries in Your Apple TV Watch Guide – 8 April 2026.
There’s something especially gripping about a series that feels both timely and deeply personal. In this case, the tension comes from more than just the danger of the mission. It also lives in the psychological pressure of stepping into hostile spaces and staying one move ahead. This is the kind of show that sounds sharp, unsettling and impossible to ignore. In other words, exactly the sort of thriller Apple TV viewers tend to get hooked on quickly.

Yes, Ted is back. And honestly, that alone is enough to make people smile. Ted Lasso Season Four takes a fresh turn by sending Ted back to Richmond to coach a second division women’s football team. That shift opens the door for a whole new kind of underdog story, which is why it stands out in Your Apple TV Watch Guide – 8 April 2026.
What made Ted Lasso work so well in the first place was never just the football. It was the heart. The optimism. The way the show made room for awkward moments, emotional growth and a few tears in between the laughs. This new season sounds ready to do that again, while also pushing the characters into unknown territory. So, while the winter 2026 release still needs to arrive, this one already feels like a major return worth watching closely.

Apple TV has had a strong run with ambitious, high-concept storytelling, and Star City looks ready to continue that streak. Inspired by the world of For All Mankind, this new drama goes back to the alternate-history space race — but from the Soviet side. That change in perspective gives the series an immediate sense of freshness, which makes it one of the more intriguing picks in Your Apple TV Watch Guide – 8 April 2026.
Instead of simply revisiting familiar ground, Star City digs into the lives of the cosmonauts, engineers and intelligence officers working behind the Iron Curtain. That means paranoia, political pressure and personal sacrifice are all likely to shape the story in a big way. It sounds tense. It sounds smart. And it sounds like the kind of drama that will pull in viewers who like layered storytelling with scale and substance.

For anyone who likes crime dramas with moral grey areas and strong character tension, Criminal Record deserves a spot on the list. Set in contemporary London, the series digs into the uncertainty of policing when truth becomes slippery and trust starts to crack. That immediately gives it a sharper edge, and it makes Criminal Record one of the most grounded titles in Your Apple TV Watch Guide – 8 April 2026.
Rather than relying on flashy crime twists alone, this show sounds more interested in pressure, power and the uncomfortable questions that sit underneath an investigation. That can make for a far richer watch. It is the kind of series that invites viewers to lean in, pay attention and decide for themselves who is telling the truth. So, if your ideal watch is smart, serious and full of tension, keep this one close.
