Classical music takes centre stage as the Salon Music String Orchestra welcomes acclaimed Austrian piano duo Anton & Maite for an afternoon of musical brilliance on Sunday, 22 November.
Celebrated for their exceptional virtuosity and engaging performances, Anton & Maite have won more than ten international awards and performed in leading concert halls across Europe. Their South African appearance brings together musical talent and cultural exchange in a programme celebrating some of classical music’s most enduring composers.
The concert opens with Johann Sebastian Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G major, followed by John Field’s Divertissement No. 2 for Piano and Strings and Bach’s Concerto for Two Keyboards in C minor. After the interval, Camille Saint-Saëns’ Wedding Cake leads into the afternoon’s highlight, Mozart’s joyful Concerto for Two Pianos in E-flat major, K.365.
Presented by Salon Music, which has championed world-class classical music in South Africa for more than 30 years, the concert is supported by the Rupert Music Foundation and the Austrian Cultural Forum.
