Having our own rental car changed the rhythm of the Cape Escape.
We could leave when we wanted, stay longer when a place deserved it and change direction when the road offered something better. There was no negotiating with transfer schedules. Instead, the vehicle became part of the adventure.
However, our experience also highlighted a broader point: not every journey requires the same car.
A couple escaping for the weekend has different needs from a family carrying several suitcases. Likewise, a business delivering stock needs something entirely different from an executive travelling between meetings.
