A Majestic Stay at The Taj Hotel in Cape Town

Taj Hotel Presidential Suite

Our most recent stay at the Taj Hotel in Cape Town was nothing short of a royal experience. Nestled in the heart of the city, this iconic five-star establishment effortlessly blends contemporary design with historic charm, housed in the former South African Reserve Bank office on Wale Street, opposite the lush Company Gardens.

Sunday Society Graham Beck Picnic

Upon entering the grand lobby, the rich history of the building with its stunning marble columns envelops you, setting the tone for an immersive and memorable stay. The 176 luxury rooms, each offering panoramic views of either the city or the iconic Table Mountain, provide a sense of opulence fit for an emperor.

Dining at its pinnacle: Bombay Brasserie

Undoubtedly, the culinary crown jewel of the Taj Hotel is Bombay Brasserie, an authentic and incredible fine-dining Indian restaurant. Specialising in North Indian cuisine with a dash of Cape Malay influence, the menu takes diners on a gastronomic journey through the vibrant streets of India.

We highly recommend trying the Experience Set Menu – a culinary adventure worth embarking on. Start with the Ambersari Tiger Prawns and Adraki Lamb Chop, each a burst of flavour. The mains elevate the experience with a slow-cooked duck breast in a Malay-infused curry sauce and a Chicken Tikka Masala bathed in a silky tomato sauce infused with a secret blend of spices. Accompanied by Bombay’s signature dal tadka, a naan basket and steamed saffron rice, the meal is a symphony of taste, smells and texture.

Rejuvenation at J Wellness Circle Spa

After a day of sightseeing around the Mother City, a visit to the award-winning J Wellness Circle Spa is a must. Rooted in the ancient wisdom of Indian wellness philosophy, the spa offers a range of rejuvenating treatments and rituals. The Vishrama 120-minute massage is a sensational experience that combines deep muscular massage with the therapeutic essence of Indian herbs. The alternating palm and thumb strokes, coupled with a fragrant signature blend of oils, realign the body and restore the energy flow.
