Following a highly acclaimed Cape Town season, the Tony and Olivier Award-winning play Prima Facie transfers to Johannesburg’s The Market Theatre from 17 September to 4 October 2026.
Written by Suzie Miller and directed by Neil Coppen, the gripping production stars Danica De La Rey Jones as Tessa, a brilliant young barrister whose faith in the legal system is shattered after a brutal attack forces her to experience it from the other side.
Exploring sexual violence, justice and the patriarchal structures within the legal system, Prima Facie is a powerful and thought-provoking theatrical experience.
The production runs for two hours without an interval, with performances Wednesdays to Fridays at 19h00, Saturdays at 15h00 and 19h00, and Sundays at 15h00. Preview performances take place from 16 to 19 September, with Half Price Wednesdays available weekly.
