City Sightseeing Cape Town’s Urban Xplorer: Inner City & Bo-Kaap Historical Tour launched on Heritage Day, 24 September 2026, adding a history-focused outing to the Mother City’s sightseeing mix.

For locals looking to get reacquainted with their city, or visitors working with a packed itinerary, the approximately 90-minute experience makes an appealing morning adventure.

Familiar Streets, Fresh Perspective

The tour begins with an hour on board, accompanied by a live English-speaking guide. The route passes Greenmarket Square, the Company’s Garden, the Castle of Good Hope, City Hall and the District Six Museum, with personal narratives and historical context connecting the landmarks to Cape Town’s people and past.

Then it’s time to stretch your legs. A 30-minute guided walk through Bo-Kaap brings the experience down to street level, inviting guests to explore the neighbourhood on foot.

Departures are at 10:00 and 12:00, starting and ending at City Sightseeing’s tour office at 81 Long Street.

Standalone tickets cost R95 for adults and R45 for juniors. Urban Xplorer is also included at no extra charge with the operator’s 1-day Premium Combo.
