Durban has never been short of great places to spend a Friday evening, but this August there’s a new addition to the city’s social calendar.
Lucky Fish Friday Night Racing is transforming Hollywoodbets Greyville into an exciting after-work destination where live sport meets food, music and culture.
Launching on Friday, 7 August, the event marks the return of Friday night racing with a fresh twist. Inspired by the visit of a Korean racing delegation, Greyville will come alive with the sights, sounds and flavours of South Korea, and create an atmosphere unlike anything racegoers have experienced before.
Visitors can expect much more than an evening at the races. A Korean-inspired night market will offer everything from crispy Korean Fried Chicken and smoky Korean BBQ to Corn Dogs, Bubble Tea, Bingsu and authentic desserts. Live entertainment, K-Pop performances, roaming entertainers and themed décor will transform the racecourse into a vibrant social hub.
Families are equally well catered for, with a dedicated KidZone providing entertainment throughout the evening, while adults can soak up the atmosphere from Durban View, where a premium hospitality experience includes racecourse views, betting facilities, a Korean-inspired menu and the popular Sip & Paint experience.
Of course, the racing remains the star attraction. Under the floodlights, the excitement of thoroughbred racing provides the perfect backdrop to an evening filled with entertainment, great food and good company.
Whether you’re planning an after-work catch-up, looking for a unique date night, entertaining the family or simply searching for something different to do in Durban, Lucky Fish Friday Night Racing promises an unforgettable Friday evening.
Best of all, general admission is free, making it one of the city’s most accessible nights out.
