Take your taste buds on a journey to Japan without leaving Umhlanga at Passport to Japan, an intimate evening of Japanese cuisine, wine and culture at Daruma Umhlanga.
Taking place on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, the experience pairs five carefully curated Japanese courses with selected wines, while exploring the traditions and stories behind each dish. The menu includes sashimi with Sauvignon Blanc, chicken gyoza with Chenin Blanc, tempura prawns with Riesling, teppanyaki beef fillet with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and a sweet finish of banana spring roll and ice cream with Noble Late Harvest Chenin Blanc.
Guests can also take part in a Japanese chopstick challenge and culture quiz, with communal seating creating a relaxed setting for conversation and connection. The experience is limited to just 20 guests.
