The Swartland Olive Festival returns to the picturesque twin towns of Riebeek Kasteel and Riebeek West from 25–27 September 2026, celebrating the region’s rich agricultural heritage and world-class olive and wine production.
Based at Riebeek Kasteel Town Square, this much-loved annual festival offers a full weekend of food, wine, olives, live entertainment and family-friendly fun. Visitors can sample award-winning extra virgin olive oils, table olives and artisanal tapenades, while enjoying local wines and craft beers, gourmet food, chef demonstrations and a curated artisanal market.
The entertainment line-up includes live performances from RAAF, Robin Auld and other local favourites, while younger visitors can enjoy a dedicated kids’ zone with magic shows and jumping castles.
The festival gets underway on Friday evening with the Olive Festival Street Party in Plein Street, now incorporated into the festival site. Expect food vendors, long-table dining, street performers and a DJ party to kick off the weekend in style.
Festival times:
Friday: 16h00–22h00
Saturday: 10h00–21h00
Sunday: 10h00–17h00
Whether exploring the region’s exceptional olive and wine producers, enjoying live music or simply soaking up the vibrant Swartland atmosphere, the Swartland Olive Festival offers a flavour-filled weekend for the whole family.
