Routes of Sound is a bite-sized winter music festival series bringing intimate, up-close performances by more than 30 exceptional South African musicians to atmospheric spaces across Spier Wine Farm.
Over three winter weekends, each with a completely different line-up, audiences can discover a diverse mix of established artists and exciting under-the-radar talent. Each evening takes guests on a sonic journey featuring three musical acts, with each performance paired with one of Spier’s award-winning Creative Block wines, before culminating in a rousing live concert.
Playing on the words “routes” and “roots”, the series celebrates the journey of musical discovery and the joy of experiencing live music in its most elemental form – unplugged, intimate and up close.
Guests are encouraged to book an early meal at VADAS Restaurant or Veld Restaurant at the Spier Hotel before the performances. Warm clothing and comfortable walking shoes are recommended for moving between venues.
